Healthtech/SUM is a global conference which introduces the cutting-edge of healthcare-related technologies (healthtech) and its advanced use cases. Amid the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the conference will be held in a hybrid style with the combination of the real venue and online.
Fast growing digitization in medical/healthcare fields across the globe, to accelerate the growth in Japan, the conference will provide opportunities to gather and share the latest knowledge and innovation in the healthtech field not only domestically but also globally.
Collecting the latest developments in the ever-growing healthcare market and participating discussions will help the conference participants to create new business and innovation.

MedPeer,Inc. operates MedPeer, one of the largest online Doctor-only community in Japan, which has 140,000 doctor members (about 40% doctors in Japan) , and provides services that support doctors and medical sites ,and healthcare services for consumers such as health promotion and prevention.
Since 2015, MedPeer ,Inc. has operated one of the largest healthtech conference “Health 2.0 Asia - Japan” , in order to cultivate the ecosystem in the Japanese healthtech industry. In 2019, MedPeer ,Inc. held HIMSS & Health 2.0 Japan 2019 jointly with Nikkei Inc. and HIMSS. We have received high support from both medical and business personnel, and have accumulated a large amount of knowledge from both overseas and domestic innovators. Furthermore, with a track record of supporting numerous startups, from 2020, Nikkei and MedPeer have jointly hold the conference as the name “Healthtech/SUM”.

To protect our lives, technology is evolving faster than ever before.
Over the past one year, as we have been forced to optimize ourselves within this tremendous environmental changes such as the hard medical situation with the limitation of resources, economic problems along with the stay-at-home conditions, working environments with the rise of unenployment etc. We had a great effort to organize many “unknown sttuations” and now they are gradually becoming available.
Now we are in the new normal era when lifestyle have changed on a global scale.
DX (digital transformation) has progressed into our life, the technologies became our friendly-neighbor, so now, I would like to redefine the "the Essence of Healthcare."
Along with many new technologies, we shall discuss how we realize the warmth of "Te-ate" the traditional Japanese word for care which represents one touches another with a warm hand, it describes that the essence of care needs to be organic and warm communication. We will introduce the latest global cases.
We welcome you to come and feel the cutting edge of healthtech in Japan and the world and experience the two hot days of midwinter connecting with key persons in industry, government, academia and each industry.

Startup Pitch
On the second day of the event "Pitch Final", domestic healthtech startups with innovative technologies and ideas compete by pitching their services and products.
In December we will set up a brand new "Virtual Pitch", where each startup will introduce their business overview on the website as well as on the Nikkei newspaper, where anyone can refer to and vote online.
Online Exhibition
The exhibition will be held online this year, to introduce innovations in the medical and healthcare fields, and services using technologies to meet the needs of society. We will publish introductory videos and material from exhibitors on our website so visitors will be able to browse and make inquiries online.

Measures against COVID-19 infection
We will hold a hybrid event, both offline and online, to prevent the risk of spreading infection. This event will be operated in accordance with the implementation guidelines of the Japanese government.
At the venue, we install hand disinfectants, all staff members will be wearing masks, all visitors and guests will be required to take their temperature before entrance, Frequently disinfect equipment such as table, and keep the venue ventilated as much as possible. We will prepare and obey an emergency manual in case we need to contact local health authority.
